Sunriver February trip

i do realize it is almost may and i am just now getting to blogging about something from february- but as my new mantra goes, "i am doing the best i can!"
we visited sunriver at the end of february, in what i am sure will be a new tradition. evan, renee, brian, brie anne, brady, shahnaz, the boys, and our troop headed east for a long weekend. it was tons of fun and included lots of hanging out, some games and even a little outside time. no snow on the ground this time, but that just meant the kids could enjoy the park and they even played a little baseball. my favorite was rory and owen playing outside on the deck, sweeping the pine needles.
evan, renee, brady and i hit the slopes one day leaving pat at home with the girls. it was a lot of fun and reinspired my love of skiing. it was also cool, b/c brady and i haven't skiied together in more then a decade. some things never change, as the first thing out of his mouth was a challenge to a race down the hill. those were the highlights- the down side was lucy was a horrible sleeper for the 3 nights leaving me a bit exhausted and overwhelmed. i am looking foward to next year, when we just have kids, no babies- i can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

sunshine where are you???

sunny days

It seems like forever since we've seen the sun around here, but these pictures taken in late march prove that it was in fact here. Mandy and george stopped by after work for some outside hanging out, some snack, and some really cute kiddos. Rory was very excited to bust out her outside toys including the bubbles and her golf clubs. you could tell how much she has grown this year, b/c her golf clubs were all the sudden way too small (thanks aunt madi for the new taller set) as were her pants appearantly. Lucy was into the bubbles and in general just rolling around on the grass and taking rory's stuff. George seemed most into the snack. he LOVED the goldfish crackers (really, who doesn't?) and used his new found mobility to creep up and try to sneak rory's away from her. they are all so cute, especially together. I can't wait for some beautiful spring oregon days- this week has been brutal. I am most excited to just have the girls be able to play outside for extended periods of time. we are working on our wish list for summer toys and our list of ways that rory can earn money to buy said items. rory is also excited to help me garden this year and we are going to plant a kid garden section that they will choose, plant, maintain, and eat/pick. George also shows signs of walking and will be toddling around in the back yard soon i'm sure. get ready summer, here we come!

Happy Easter!

*********Just added a post on Lucy's 1st bday, but you have to scroll back to feb.22nd.*******

Happy Easter!
We started the weekend off with some intense egg decorating on friday night. Rory preferred the glitter paint, while lucy was into the egg markers. Both worked very hard and really enjoyed it.
Saturday, we went to an Easter party at rory's school but we were having too much fun to take pictures so I will have to wait for the school to email me their's before i can add them. Sunday the girls woke up to a bunny trail (m&ms) that had been left for them starting at the top of the stairs and windind all the way downstairs to their easter baskets. Rory's favorite thing from the easter bunny was the m&m's and lucy's was the super hero cape that was left for rory.
