So we had a long weekend of celebrations for Rory's 2nd birthday. On Friday night Brady, Shahni, the boys, Aunt Madi and Grandma Dawni all ventured to the Play Boutique in Lake Oswego for Rory's first movie- Horton Hears a Who. It was great because the kids got to play and the adults got to enjoy a beverage and visit. Rory got her first taste of German food on Sat. when we took her to the Rhinelander for dinner- she loved the fondue, the music and the singing waiters. She may have an Irish name, but that kiddo looks every bit her German heritage. On Sunday we had her official birthday party at HUB a local brewery in SE. Due to illness, only one of her little buddies could make it, but Eli was adorable as usual and the two played and ate and had a good time. Rory was VERY into her Dora cupcakes and loved having all her people around her to sing and help her celebrate. She is one lucky girl and we are a very fortunate family! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make her 2nd birthday so special. I will blog more on life with Rory at 2 soon. BTW- lucy is great!

computer blow up
typical that our computer decides to completely fry during Lucy's 2nd week at home. We have replaced it so I have internet access again, however we lost about 2 weeks of pictures. So you can use your imagination to fill in the posts that I missed- first bath etc. We are approaching the 1month old phase and she loses her newborn look a little every day. Exciting and sad at the same time. 2nd time mommyhood is definitely different- time flew with rory but this time we are moving at warp speed. I look back and can't figure out why I thought it was so hard with just one baby? I think the biggest difference is the first time around it was a serious identity change. I became a MOM- which was a huge adjustment. This time I am crazy busy, wicked tired, less then clean, and having a great time. All in all everything is going really smoothly. Rory continues to amaze me on a daily basis- she randomly started counting in spanish the other day (maybe due to the increase in Dora viewing since lucy's arrival?) and chats nonstop. She turns 2 in a couple of days and I hope to spend some time writing a bit about her soon for my own memory. PK came to visit when Lucy was only 5 days old, and took some more pics. He has given us such a gift of capturing these precious times on film. i love what he has done with the images to enhance them and I think they look really beautiful. March is so incredibly busy with birthdays, march madness, corndog day, spring break, etc. It feels good to take a moment out of the craziness and reflect on this little thing called my family!

Back tracking
I am trying to get caught up on blogging, emailing, etc. and I realized that in my hast to get pics up of baby Lucy I skipped several events from the weeks prior to her arrival. So I will back track a bit and try to get caught up. First up is the awesome babyshower that Shahnaz and Rebecca threw for me down in Corvallis. It was supposed to be at this fancy spa in Corvallis, but 4 days prior to the event the spa hung a sign on their door that they were out of business, a scary sign of the times. Rebecca was generous enough to open her beatiful home to us and the event went on and was lovely. It was so nice to get to spend the afternoon with some of my favorite ladies! They even brought the spa to us and had a chair massage lady there to give us short massages- it was really fun. Good food, good company, good times! Thanks again Shahni, Rebecca and everyone who attended and helped out to make it such a special event!
